NO CONDITION IS PERMANENT [Episode #215 ~ 02-15-20]

“In the depths of winter, I at last discovered there was in me an invincible summer.” So best did cheery Al Camus put it in his 1954 essay Return To Tipasa. Regulars at the Purple Bat Lounge did not receive Al’s memo. For them, winter was all too real, grim to the brim, stripped of any imaginable conclusion. Better (read: warmer) times spent at the bar’s Outdoor Patio™, the local pimp idly tossing ever larger insects at the bug zapper for the amusement of his cronies…it may as well have been a half-forgotten scene glimpsed on Bill Kennedy‘s Million Dollar Movie for all the comfort such memories might offer reprobates hiding from an unpalatable Nature. DJ Lee-Roy fought despondency by reaching out to his longtime crush, kooky French film star Béatrice Dalle…to little avail. All the same, performing due diligence as broadcast professionals, the dog and his minder/co-host Reeshard soldiered on, serving the musical equivalent of antifreeze. Uncle Morty turned up to help and the Madison Theatre’s programmers arranged a memorial twin-bill for recently departed sado-siren Dyanne Thorne. Lots else transpired, of which you may learn more simply by clicking just…down…there…
