As late summer doldrums disappear in the rear-view mirror, even the narcotic-positive patrons of the Purple Bat Lounge sense Father Time dropping his foot on the accelerator. Why, in the space of a single Saturday evening they witnessed: Lee-Roy diving into a new special issue of Paws’n’Gravy magazine (to the extent that he nearly forgot about the show); DJ Reeshard and the aforementioned pit bull selecting nearly three dozen tunes and playing same at lease-breaking volume; Uncle Morty turning up with a small canister whose label spelled ‘trouble’ (though using different letters to accomplish as much); and the beginning of Halloween programming at The Madison.
