Last Saturday evening kicked off with a chestnut much loved by the patrons of The Purple Bat Lounge: Bettye Crutcher’s “Sugar Daddy.” The lyrics immediately sank their unholy claws into DJ Lee-Roy’s fetid canine mind. Within the hour, our favorite pit bull was obsessed with what he perceived as his predestined status: sugar daddy. Which, of course, provided the impetus for much spirited banter between the dog and his co-host/owner/bail bondsman, Reeshard. Thankfully, none of this got in the way of some three dozen tunes comprising the evening’s musical backdrop. Nor did it distract Lee-Roy when Uncle Morty’s truck pulled up in front…but then, what could? Another female empowerment twin-bill screened at The Madison and, overall, a most righteous time was had by all in attendance. Which, now, can be shared by you in the comparative safety of your own home. Go ahead, click the little arrow and find out for yourself…
