NO CONDITION IS PERMANENT [Episode #165 ~ 06-09-18]

It had to happen. DJ Lee-Roy‘s outsize personalty could not be contained forever within the tomb-like confines of downtown Detroit’s Purple Bat Lounge. Our favorite pit bull reckons he’s destined for global renown and, during the past week, he came that much closer to realizing his unholy ambition. The July 2018 issue of much vaunted UK music journal The Wire features a list of LP’s favored by Reeshard & Lee-Roy during an average Saturday’s N.C.I.P. broadcast from Brush Street. It should be noted, though, that when the news broke about this uptick in the dog’s public profile, he was distracted by another feature in the British press, a profile of longtime Lee-Roy crush, dangerously kooky Béatrice Dalle in The Guardian. (That poor dog…he’ll never learn.) Not that any of this weighed heavily on the regulars in attendance last Saturday. To their way of thinking, the evening was deemed successful as: The tunes played brilliantly; drinks were served over the counter; other distractions were available near the door to the alley; and no one was shot. (Well, no one whom we cared about.) Check it all out, simply by thumping upon that little arrow a few pixels to the south, and see what the fuss is about…
