Luxuria Music, the station that’s sufficiently tolerant as to host our show, likes a PR blurb to accompany upcoming broadcasts. So we sent along this one: “A special trance-inducing playlist this time out, the perfect soundtrack for edibles, soporifics, empathogens and cocktails of arcane formulation. Needless to add DJ Lee-Roy, aware of the evening’s vibe, has been stocking up well in advance of the broadcast.” All of which proved true last Saturday evening, though semantic distinctions may have applied, viz. Did you want your altered state soundtracked by incessant thumping, several levels of distortion and the occasional scream? Oh, you did? Great, we won’t worry about you then… Otherwise, it was another exercise in bopping, crashing and atom-smashing, conducted within the purportedly safe haven of a dive bar in downtown Detroit.
