NO CONDITION IS PERMANENT [Episode #152 ~ 01-27-18]

Social fluidity is central to any bar’s existence, or so you’d think. At the Purple Bat Lounge, the fluid part is taken for granted. The patrons’ social skills, on the other hand, could benefit from a periodic tune-up. Consider the random appearance last Saturday of of Nice Guy Eddie, a nogoodnik tuxedo cat with scary dental hygiene issues who’s a frenemy of longstanding with DJ Lee-Roy. Nice Guy Eddie, as it transpired, had been 86’ed for the moment from the Blue Moon, another bar just down Brush Street that was (owing to the cat’s rat-crunching skills) his usual place of employ. Co-host Reeshard suspected Nice Guy Eddie of little beyond looking to get in on Lee-Roy’s latest transaction with Uncle Morty’s truck. And, wouldn’t you know, Reeshard was right. (For the record, said transaction yielded a small jar labeled Forbidden Fruit.) The promise of a Mondo Satanic double feature at the Madison doubtless sweetened the deal. Could anything good have come of this, outside of the three dozen great tunes heard over the evening’s course? Of course not. But we won’t spill it all — you can do that for yourself, simply by filling a glass and clicking appropriately a few pixels south of this sentence. Tune in anyway…
