The Purple Bat Lounge, that frabjous spot in a decidedly vorpal neighborhood, on first glance might resemble little more than a backwater of ambitions unfulfilled (if not avoided outright). Yet, beneath that soporific veneer lurks a cauldron of potential conflict awaiting the catalyst that makes everything go oh so very wrong. In the latest instance of same, all it took was DJ Lee-Roy noticing, within last Saturday’s four sets of high velocity tunes, an unusual garment worn by co-host Reeshard. From there, things spiraled downward, aided in no small measure by the arrival of Uncle Morty’s truck with its latest offering: A canister labeled Hannibal Nectar. If you can imagine what this dredged from Lee-Roy’s fertile subconscious, then you’re to be commended for your flair for the bleeding obvious. Though the evening did contain — aside from news of a super slutty twin-bill at The Madison — some actual surprises. The latter may be experienced at safe remove within your own home, simply by clicking in the right spots immediately below. Tune in anyway…
