NO CONDITION IS PERMANENT [Episode #129 ~ 07-15-17]

Saturday night took on the aspect of an overworked pizza oven, especially within the sweat-summoning confines of the Purple Bat Lounge, and no one was more annoyed by the heat than N.C.I.P.’s canine co-host Lee-Roy. He loitered near bartender LaWanda, in faint hope that she might open the beer cooler and forget to close the door. Truly desperate, the pit bull retreated to the Purple Bat’s reopened Outdoor Patio — really just a group of folding chairs in the alley. What management termed a ‘patio’ was defined by a semi-circular arrangement of trash cans and a carriage lamp-model bug zapper, its violet death ray entertaining those unfocused types drinking al fresco. Now and then Lee-Roy would report on doings out back to his co-worker and guardian, Reeshard, while the latter cued up a perfect soundtrack to this fetid climate. The dog, to his credit, rallied in time to deliver a storming final set. It should be noted that none of those clichés about murder at high temperatures were actually borne out. True, other stuff happened, but you’ll have to listen (as below) to discover just what that was. Tune in anyway…
