NO CONDITION IS PERMANENT [Episode #121 ~ 04-29-17]

Raymond Chandler best summarized last week’s weather: “It was one of those hot dry Santa Anas that come down through the mountain passes and curl your hair and make your nerves jump and your skin itch. On nights like that every booze party ends in a fight. Meek little wives feel the edge of the carving knife and study their husbands’ necks. Anything can happen. You can even get a full glass of beer at a cocktail lounge.” At our lounge, The Purple Bat, co-host Lee-Roy was clearly beside himself. To say that the wind did not agree with him is to understate the case. However, radio professional that he is, the pit bull eventually steeled his resolve (with a little help both from Uncle Morty’s truck & the promise of a Pam Grier double-feature at The Madison) and soldiered on alongside Reeshard to deliver four sets of feral music as one might expect of a Saturday evening spent on Brush St.. There’s a lot more — most of it unfit for print — but you can hear the whole story and lots of great tunes by clicking in the appropriate spots below. Tune in anyway…
