NO CONDITION IS PERMANENT [Episode #109 ~ 12-10-16]

It’s hard to say which of N.C.I.P.’s hosts dislikes Xmas music more. Reeshard will walk a long way to avoid hearing Bono’s rendition of “Xmas Baby Please Come Home,” but then, what sentient being wouldn’t do the same? By definition, The Purple Bat is a refuge from sentimentality of all sorts, the small defective mechanical Santa-doing-the Mashed-Potato statuette on the bar near the picked egg jar notwithstanding. Lee-Roy digs the season, if only for the possibility that he will find an Antonio Vargas-model big brim pimp hat under the tree on Xmas morning. Mostly, though, the dog lives for those moments when Reeshard cracks under the pressure to be jolly and plays something seasonally appropriate. But if you, dear listener, haven’t been bingeing on all-night marathons of made-for-TV Xmas movies on the Hallmark channel — or, indeed, urgently require respite from same — this could be the show for you. A twin-bill featuring nasty nurses and bedroom stewardesses at The Madison, medicated gummy bears sold out of a filthy former ice cream truck, and four sets of salacious R’n’B, uptown boogaloo, knuckle-dragging garage rock and so much more. Hear it all by clicking in the right spots, below. Tune in anyways…
