Last Saturday’s episode of No Condition Is Permanent chronicled an eventful evening — well, eventful by our own standards of enforced indolence. Two hours of great music was enjoyed, of course. There were rumblings of dissent at an early juncture, however, as Lee-Roy all but accused his human co-host of being unable to experience pleasure in its purest form. Our favorite pit bull then proceeded to work the Purple Bat Lounge as though he was running for election, aided in this pursuit by a delivery arriving mid-program, when the familiar sound of “Fur Elise” signaled the presence of ever-benificent Uncle Morty. Two great Blaxploitation films played at The Madison, the usual suspects and sundry others appeared on the playlist and a bow was tied on the proceedings in the form of a memento mori dedicated to that wonderful one-off, the late Tony Conrad. (Tony having been Reeshard’s advisor way back in grad school.) It was all too much, really, including the bar tab that the dog rang up in the course of glad-handing every soul in the place. Now you can experience this, without the expense of having to pay your canine friend’s bill. Tune in anyways…
