To come so far for beauty, to leave so much behind…actually, it wasn’t all that far. Only a few blocks away from the police precinct to a less salubrious stretch of Brush Street where those in the know will find The Purple Bat Lounge, that more convenient spot where the door, if not always open, is easily pried. Therein Reeshard and his picaresque pal Lee-Roy set about undermining the moral compass of a Saturday evening with two hours’ worth of their brand of cultural scheiße. The records played, representing something like a playlist of moral turpitude, are listed below. What isn’t so easily displayed is the constant distraction, as personified by his canine pal, with which Reeshard must cope throughout the evening. Lee-Roy offers insights about the show’s listening demographic and steps up, at random intervals, to practice his version of pit bull quality control. But why sweat the small stuff?
